Great Value Aug 26, 2008
By PK Note they changed chips for this product. The review below is NOT for Diamond Suited Chips. It is for "Las Vegas" chips with stickers.
===========
If you are considering buying this set then it immediately rules out that you are after top of the line chips like Paulsons or Chipco that cost over a dollar per chip. You want a decent chip without paying a lot of money. Well, on that front this set really delivers. You will never confuse their looks, feel, or sound with top quality chips, but you will also find these chips perform well above just about any of the metal insert ABS chips and nearly equal to most other home game chips.
Size: These chips are slightly undersized (38mm?) in diameter compared to most 39mm poker chips; noticeable to many hard core players, but easy to get over.
Weight: At 9 grams, these are lighter chips than most home sets, but much closer to real poker chips. I actually prefer this weight.
Sound: No 'clink' like a metal insert chip (yeah!). More of a deeper sounding 'clack' on par with some clay chips; not as high of a 'click' as with other clay chips. Overall sound is good.
Sticker: If you do not mind the cartoonish styling and want chips with denominations, this makes a good set. The double-sided glossy stickers are adhered very good (although some glue squeeze-out occurred between some chips in their wrapper). Also, they do not have dollar signs or decimal points so you can use them for larger games if you like (100 = $100,000, 5 = $5,000, etc.)
Chip Handling/Tricks: The chips stack very well. You can move a stack of 25 easily around the table without them falling. I would not consider their stacking edges 'slippery' like many other home chips. For tricks however the glossy sticker is slippery and is a detriment by making it more difficult to hold and control them during cutting, shuffling and other tricks. They do not have that annoying rubbery bounce like some other chips.
Clones: Note that there are many "Welcome to Las Vegas" look-a-like chips like these (with 4, 6, and 8 double edge stripes). I am not sure if anyone of them is considered the 'original' design or not. Regardless, these chips with 6 sets of double edge stripes are quite nice. They also have one diamond edge spot on the rim between each set of stripes. I prefer these chips over the 8 double stripe variety samples I've seen. I have not sampled the 4 double stripe variety.
Case: The case is adequate, but I do not trust the latches to hold a full case of chips in an upright state. I carry and store it flat (horizontally).
Bottom Line: Great value in a home set. Chips and Games was a good vendor to deal with. Shipped same day. Order some additional 50 roll chips for $2 (available here at Amazon) at the same time to dilute the shipping costs and build your set even bigger.

Great chips for the price Jul 28, 2008
By Mike M. Chips feel and sound very good. They appear to be clay or clay composite unlike a lot of plastic chips. They are 9 gram chips as there is no metal insert, but the metal insert chips sound like metal and I prefer the sound of these chips. I know 11.5 gram chips are quie popular but I am not sure how that got started. Casinos do not use any chips heavier than 10 grams. Most chips in Las Vegas casinos are either 10, 9, or even 7.5 grams. All Vegas roulette tables use chips that weight between 7-9 grams. Heavier 11.5 gram chips make your fingers tired if you have a habit of shuffling the chips while playing.
The set insludes 2 decks of playing cards and 5 dice. The aluminum case looks very sturdy and strong so no problem there. All in all, great chips for the price.

Las Vegas Poker chips Sep 16, 2008

We bought this set for our son who is becoming quite the card shark! He loves to play poker with his college buddies and the regular size case just didn't have enough chips for all of them to play. He is very happy with this set & will be taking it with him when he goes back to college this week. We can only hope he will win enough to pay his way through the next 3 years !
This is a high quality set and the price was a steal!

Most poker chip are pretty much the same....whatever!
These VEGAS Themed chips only add to the poker experience and give everyone playing something to talk about. I have received so many compliments on these chips and the price is untouchable!
I can not imagine there is a better deal out there for poker chips and especially unique chips such as these! Don't debate this one....just purchase them!
