Great deal for about twelve bucks Jun 16, 2011
By C. Keller I've got Kem and Copag plastic cards, and have read good reviews on the Modiano and Da Vinci cards. Since I was going to buy three sets of cards for gifts, I thought this would be a good way to check these out. The bridge size jumbo index is our groups personal favorite, so this set fits nicely (About 95% of poker rooms in the U.S. use bridge size cards with a regular index).
These cards didn't come with a hard plastic case (comes standard with Kem and Copag cards). They come in a cardboard box with a plastic tray. I've seen these cards for sale with the hard shell case for just a couple bucks more. Unfortunately I couldn't find them in the bridge size jumbo index with a hard shell case.
I don't normally scrutinize the aesthetics of cards, but for this review I will try and give you as much detail as I can. My normal test would only be in the handling; shuffle a few times, deal a few cards, shuffle, deal, etc. If you've never used plastic cards before, they do handle differently than paper cards.
The deck is a little thicker than the Kem and Copag decks, by about three cards, which may be why they feel just slightly stiffer. The finish is nice. They reflect a little less light than the Kem's (the less reflection the better). The print quality looks great. The blacks are nice and dark. The reds are a darker blood red like the Kem's, compared to the lighter and more vibrant reds of the Copag's and Da Vinci's. The jumbo index is a little smaller and thinner than the Kem, Copag, and Da Vinci's.
I bought a set of the Modiano Golden Trophy, and the Old Trophy, and both sets (all four decks) were slightly bowed downward. It was kind of a let down at first, but it didn't seem to effect the handling, so I'm only knocking one star off for that. I haven't had these long enough to know how durable they are, but considering the overall quality and low cost of these cards, I'd recommend trying them out. Just wish they came with a hard shell case like Kem and Copag.
I also like that little car on the backs of the cards...it reminds me of, "Mr Toads Wild Ride" at Disneyland :)

Best value in long lasting plastic playing cards Dec 30, 2011
By J. M. Miller I bought this set of 2 decks of Modiano bridge size large index poker playing cards to replace a set that we have been using for almost 2 years now. These cards last an incredibly long time as well as being washable in case something gets spilled while playing.
I won't bother with any other details since C. Keller did that in his excellent review. I agree with everything that he had so say about these cards, thanks.

better than I expected May 21, 2011

"music monger"
These cards are fantastic. Better than I had hoped. My poker buddies are pig and ruin cards pretty quickly. These held up great and clean up very easily.
