Let me start off by saying I was not expecting much from this product. Hey, I know I ordered a low priced backgammon game....but holy moly this is one serious piece of junk. My jaw started opening at first sight...the outside of case is solid black, no stripe or stitching. "Oh well" I say, "it was only $25". So then I try to open the case. After a few attempts the latch catches my fingernail and pulls it back a little..."@#$%@#$@". Upon finally opening the case, my jaw hits the hardwood floor, making me completely forget about the latch under the fingernail pain. The inside looks like a one dimensional barren wasteland....the black and red triangles are not leatherette, they are not even raised pieces of felt, they are just colors on the super cheap looking felt....and I use "felt" loosely here. Ok, maybe I am being a little hard on the felt's flatness..it did show some "relief"...it WAS buckled in more than a few places, which added some elevations. Finally, the Leatherette was already flapping off the edges of a dice tumbler...which now that I think about it, would have turned this game into a craft project too!
The only good part of this game was the color. I thought the black/red combo was cool, a nice change from the browns.
I know I tried to make my review funny, but seriously proceed with caution if you consider this product....unless of course you are looking to de-friend someone.
I do mostly blame myself for ordering it, I looked at a brown one from the same seller, same manufacturer and same price and wrongly assumed it was the same. But I will never know. Because now its too late to order and get shipped before Christmas.
Oh and don't worry about my jaw pain, it will soon be forgotten as I stand in the mind numbing line at the post office to ship this thing back.

Reading the previous review I was a bit skeptical, but I am not disappointed at the backgammon set and actually pretty happy with it. For this low price you will have a hard time finding a large enough backgammon set. It is a basic set with good looking interior and good workmanship. You can't expect a leather set for this price.

Great price on this product! Size if just right for travel when spending time in motels/hotels. I purchase quite often from Amazon and have always been pleased with products and prices.
