Nice Chips at a Nice Price Nov 05, 2009 Disclaimer: I do not play poker, nor have I spent much time in casinos. I don't really know what "real" chips feel like.
I was looking for a solid chip with a nice feel for a prop in a non-card game. These were exactly what I was looking for. The feel and the warm clacky sound are perfect. They're nice and weighty and just feel...substantial, I guess is the word. They were well packaged and the shipping was prompt. They ship with no long term storage, though. Once you tear open the plastic sleeve that they're packed in, you're on your own.

Professional feel! Nov 12, 2008 These chips feel and sound just like their casino counterparts but at a more affordable price.
I purchased a few small stacks to try them out in a homemade low stakes tournament with some friends and they were really impressed.
The finish is less slippery and heftier than composite chips making them more stable when stacked and better to handle. There is a wide array of colors you can choose to represent different values (just like casino chips). The only chip color that can be confusing is the Navy blue chip. It's too close to the black chip and if you're playing in low lighting conditions (as might be the case almost every time) they can get mixed up. The white and gray is good enough for $1 value since it's the least impressive of the bunch.
The downside to these chips is that you can't customize them placing initials or dollar values but I feel that this provides more flexibility to change the values depending on the type of game you'll be playing.
I was so pleased with the first purchase I went to the vendor's website (ChipsandGames) and got a 500 chip count aluminum poker set.

Chip, chip, hooray! Feb 10, 2008 My company developed a product that needed poker chips with an authentic look and feel. Following our disappointment with some others that subsidized their weight with metal inserts, our search found this item. After initially purchasing a couple 25-packs for evaluation, we were delighted with the quality, consistency, and 'feel' these chips offered. So we promptly ordered 5,000 more. One small caveat: If you order in a large quantity as we did, ask the vendor to double-box the product. The weight of these chips in bulk is such that a single thickness of cardboard is insufficient - our shipment arrived in boxes that were at the verge of splitting open along the corners (where the wear in shipping occurs). Five stars for an excellent product!
